For this Dewalt Circular Saw review I was not compensated in any way by DeWALT, but you can bet your ass there are affiliate links here.
Circular saws definitely go on the must have tool list. They are portable, easy to use and versatile. Simply change the blade to match your material and you’re set to cut for a multitude of projects.
If you’re ready to get some great advice on what circular saw to buy keep reading, or if you don’t care about the advice and just want a damn good tool keep scrolling!
DEWALT Circular Saw
What I like about the Dewalt Corded Circular Saw:
The Dewalt Circular saw is robust and powerful saw. It slides like butter even through the thickest of wood. If you’re using two hands to hold the saw (like you should be) there is no kickback – which can be kind of scary when it happens if you aren’t used to working with saws. The blades are incredibly easy to change (there’s none of that nonsense of me saying “babe… can you loosen the blade so I can change it?”). The blower does a really good job of keeping the sawdust out of the way so you can see what you’re cutting and come to think of it, it does a great job of keeping the dust away from your face as well (don’t forget to wear safety goggles!) This model also has electric braking and a powerful 15.0 Amp motor.
The aluminum shoe
The shoe is a lot larger than those found on other saws and the edges of it are smooth and is made of solid stamped aluminum. This might not mean much to you right now, but it’s kind of important (depending on what you’re going to use the saw for). If you plan on using this saw for a multitude of projects it’s nice to know that the shoe won’t accumulate nicks and gouges that can later scratch your finish work (like scratching the surface of cabinetry or doors.)
The Case*
I’m not sure if you’ve caught on yet, but I LOVE CASES and bags and anything that will carry my tools. I am constantly moving from one job to the next and need all our tools to be organized and easy to transport. And even if I wasn’t constantly moving these tools around, I love that everything for the saw is in one box in the garage instead of having the saw in this corner and the blades in another corner and the guide on the workbench… you get the idea.
But this case is definitely one of my favorites! It’s a hard case (which we often use as a something to cut on when it’s just a quick cut) in which the saw and the cord fit perfectly and there’s even room for extra blades and a few other odds and ends. *There are two different affiliate links on this page, one for a soft carrying bag and another for the hard case. I have the hard case but from personal experience the bags are very sturdy and of good quality too.
The Cord
This might seem like a small thing to comment on, but the cord on the Dewalt circular saw is extra long! Which is a huge bonus. I can almost always find an outlet close enough to what I’m cutting so that I don’t have to dig out an extension cord. Hallelujah!
Adjustments:
This saw allows for all the precise adjustments one might need to make. You can adjust not only the blade depth but the angle as well! Believe me, you want that. The rear depth adjustment allows your hands to be behind the tool no matter what depth your cutting at. And something I never really thought was important before we purchased this saw (and until you need to use the feature) is that it has a shoe adjustment to align the blade and shoe for speed square cuts.

Dewalt Circular Saw w/ Hard Case
Here’s the Dewalt Circular saw with the hard case. I personally have the hard case and I love it! However, I own the saw from the kit picture to the right and the hard case shown above because when we bought that’s the package Dewalt was offering.

Dewalt Circular Saw w/ Soft Case
Here’s a Dewalt circular saw with a soft carrying case. Through research and personally owning other Dewalt carrying bags I believe the quality of the bag will be good. This saw would be classified as ‘lightweight’ which means it’s lighter but also has a little less power.

Purchase Just the Saw
Don’t need a carrying bag or case? Sometimes you can purchase just the saw and save some money but promotions and packages are often offered where it just makes more sense to buy the saw and carrying bag/case. But here are just the saws should you wish to purchase separately.
