I bet you guys can barely contain your excitement about our small kitchen remodel before and after pictures.
Sense the sarcasm?
It’s taken me so long to get these pictures onto this blog (if you’re wondering why, read my last post here) that most of you regulars have already seen our small kitchen remodel before and after pictures in my Instagram stories and in previous posts! But this post actually contains some never before seen before and afters and even a short little video of the entire kitchen at the end! So check it out!
But wait…Rewinding for a moment…
We bought a fixer upper wayyyyyy back in 2016. A cute little 3 bedroom bungalow with a one bedroom apartment above the garage. Per usual, the fixer upper was way more work (and therefore money) than we could have ever anticipated. So it took us almost a year and half to renovate both the apartment and the main house.
But I’m forever grateful for all the obstacles because it forced Mr. Stone Head to expand his remodeling business and forced me to take my side businesses more seriously.
And we have a beautiful home with a beautiful new kitchen remodel… which is why you’re here.
The Small Kitchen Remodel Before and After Pictures
Below are the official before and after pictures of our small kitchen remodel in our fixer upper! FINALLY!!!
It truly is a walk down memory lane to put these kinds of posts together… I mean the picture below is one of the first pictures I ever took of the kitchen when we first bought our fixer upper. Sometimes I still can’t believe we took this kitchen from what it was to what is now, especially for so little money!
While I of course I am already dreaming of a bigger chef’s kitchen, I am so grateful for my small kitchen remodel and remind myself every day that I’m blessed to work in such a beautiful space that me and the Mr. renovated with basically only our own four hands… and some power tools.
Luckily, the kitchen already had hardwood floors (only after ripping, peeling and scraping off 5 layers of vinyl) so we finished them when we finished the rest of the house’s flooring. We used RTA (ready to assemble) cabinets in the kitchen, which I’ve been using for years in kitchen remodels and apartment upgrades.
You truly get a better quality cabinet and more customization than off the shelf at big box stores.
Our countertops, oh how I love thee.
We got leftovers from a local butcher block company who supplies bars, restaurants and retail stores with butcher block counters for various things so we spent close to nothing on them and we had enough left over to do our bathroom vanity as well!
I love the above view of my kitchen!! It’s the only one where you can literally see everything we did in this kitchen remodel!
THIS sink and combo! The majority of people that come into our house comment on the sink and faucet. My response every time with giddy excitement “isn’t it gorgeous!?”
It’s a black granite sink with a matte black and stainless steel faucet and matching matte black soap dispenser. [link to sink here, link to faucet here, link to soap dispenser here] One of my favorite things about the sink is the strainer that it comes with. It works really well which is important for old pipes likes ours and even has a cute little handle to take it out and dump it! Sawweet.
I am so happy with the way the right side of the kitchen came out!! I was nervous to rip out that old cuppard where our now 8 foot tall pantry resides as I thought it added character to the house. But looking back through the pictures there wasn’t too much we could do with that cabinet there… it was kind of just there and didn’t make much sense.
This kitchen remodel might be a small one but I am so happy with the way it turned out and can happily say I’ve been making some pretty delicious food in there! And check out that stove. It’s a five burner and I often have all five going!
And that my friends, is the end of our small kitchen remodel before and after pictures!! I’ve already started working on the before and after pictures for the bathroom remodel, so stay tuned for that!
